Animal & Dog Etiquette at Bishop’s Court Farm

Dogs at Bishop’s Court Farm

We love welcoming dogs to Bishop’s Court Farm and The Snug Café, and we’re always pleased to see four-legged visitors enjoying the farm and surrounding countryside.

We kindly ask all dog owners to help us protect our animals, visitors and equestrian activities by following a few simple rules.

Please keep dogs on leads at all times

Bishop’s Court Farm is home to alpacas, sheep, goats and horses. Even friendly dogs can cause distress to livestock, and unexpected encounters can be dangerous for both animals and people.

Keeping your dog on a lead helps us provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Dogs in The Snug Café

Dogs are welcome inside The Snug Café.
We do, however, have a friendly Three Bark Rule. If your dog becomes unsettled or vocal, please take them outside for a short break before returning. We want all our guests to enjoy a relaxed visit.

Please pick up after your dog

Dog waste must always be picked up and disposed of responsibly. Please do not leave bagged waste around the farm or along footpaths.

Respect our animals

Please do not enter animal fields or allow children to enter livestock enclosures.

Alpacas and other farm animals can become stressed if chased or approached unexpectedly. They are happiest when admired from outside the fencing.

Enjoy the Walks

From the farm you can enjoy beautiful walks towards Wittenham Clumps and along the Thames Path. We simply ask that dogs remain on leads throughout your visit so that our animals, visitors and horses can all enjoy the countryside safely.

Thank you for helping us care for our animals and preserve the welcoming atmosphere of Bishop’s Court Farm.
